MEMORY BLOCKS: RECONSTRUCTING LOST PLACES
Educational Program for adults and children aged 14 years or older
Benaki Museum – Main Building
Sunday, March 16, 2014
11:00 – 12:30

Memory is an active process- something that is constantly being remade. Something tactile and plastic. Yet it is something always on the verge of being forgotten. By exploring Andro Wekua’s attempts to reconstruct his lost city, a place he cannot visit, the workshop invites participants to remember and rebuild their own lost places, and to reflect on the forces, both private and collective, that block our ability to remember. The event will involve in depth discussion about the exhibit, and a sculpture workshop.

This is a public event organized on the occasion of the exhibition Andro Wekua – Pink Wave Hunter and is suitable for adults and children aged 14 years or older.

This program will be conducted in Greek by Jennifer Nelson.

Registration begins on March 5, 2014 and the cost for participation is 5 Euro.

To join, please contact the Benaki Museum Educational Programs Department at education@benaki.gr or on +30 210 3671067-69.
