2000 WORDS: URS FISCHER

PUBLISHED BY THE DESTE FOUNDATION

Swiss artist Urs Fischer is best known for his unexpected transformations of quotidian objects and spectacularly disorienting installations. Combining grand gestures with a hallucinated attitude, the artist brings an alchemical approach to materials, images, and bodies fracturing our experience of the world around us.

Part of the new 2000 Words series, conceived by Massimiliano Gioni and published by the DESTE Foundation, this colorful monograph, with an essay by Jessica Morgan, presents the wide array of Fischer’s work in the Dakis Joannou Collection.
