The DESTE Foundation presents the group exhibition Part Time Punks, proposed by artists-curators Lakis and Aris Ionas for the program of DESTE’s “Yellow Project Room.” Following an open call for proposals, Part Time Punks was selected by a committee comprising of DESTE, Deitch Projects, and The Wrong Gallery.
Young, Athens-based visual artists, musicians, DJs, and performers create an environment that is permeated by a distinct sense of DIY-Punk culture and brimming with references to a perception of the “patent”; a widespread practice of devising tricks or coming up with petty inventions that is inextricably linked with Greek everyday reality. The exhibition includes live music performances by Victory Collapse and The Callas, DJ sets by the Legal Tender, and an art performance by Natasha Giannaraki.
