Various debates about the center and the periphery of antagonisms between cultural meccas (recently London VS New York) are without doubt instrumental for the understanding of artworks. Beyond such analyses of culture, interesting art is being produced when a network of interactions emerges. The artist needs an audience, the audience needs information, the writer needs a published, and so on. It seems that in recent years such a nexus is growing rapidly in Greece making contemporary art a more central concern of Greek life. In the fashion industry designers shows the shape of things to come half year in advance. Spring Collection ’96 is a preview of the many interesting directions Greek artists have taken in the last few years.
