The Greek Gift

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Massimiliano Gioni and Dakis Joannou invited friends and artists to select works for an exhibition in the DESTE Slaughterhouse on Hydra. The Greek Gift was assembled through a series of moves and countermoves: for every piece selected, another was added that corresponded thematically or aesthetically, weaving together an intricate creative dialogue. Like a chessboard on which the players showcase not only their skills, but their love of the game, the exhibition became a whole greater than its parts.
