TIM NOBLE & SUE WEBSTER: MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE

PUBLISHED BY THE DESTE FOUNDATION

Tim Noble and Sue Webster are among the most celebrated of the emerging generation of British artists. A couple in life as well as in art, Noble and Webster have become known for their silhouetted self-portraits made out of heaps of rubbish which have offered a completely new take on the tradition of portraiture. Through their work, the duo exploit the mundane and the kitsch and transform the most humble materials into complex and visually arresting installations and sculptures and have created their own brand of punk pop aesthetic: a trashy wonderland where art world subversion meets Harlequin romance.

The exhibition leaflet includes an interview of Noble & Webster with Dakis Joannou, Katerina Gregos, Jeffrey Deitch, Stuart Shave, Norman Rosenthal, and Max Wigman.
