PATRIZIA CAVALLI – FLIGHTY MATTERS

As part of the destefashioncollection, each year DESTE commissions an artist to select five fashion designs relevant to that year to interpret visually and/or verbally through the creation of five related works. The goal is to create parallels between the actual objects and the interpretations, giving the viewer a deeper understanding of how fashion can be perceived. For the fourth edition of the destefashioncollection, Patrizia Cavalli has written six poems as well as a short story inspired by fashion items by Diane de Clerq, Stefan Janson, Nasir Mazhar, Alexander McQueen, Issey Miyake and Victor & Rolf.

This bilingual poetry collection about fashion also includes 18 reproductions of Cavalli’s original manuscripts.
